3 bedroomed house with 3 barns and 1 hectare of land - €140,000

Ten years ago, or more, you would see these opportunities. But they're quite rare nowadays.
This property has been in the same French family for generations, but there is nobody living there now and the family have had to sort out the inheritance.
The property is set in the tranquil South Charente with beautiful views toward the Dordogne border.
The house itself is habitable, but in need of refurbishment. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and another upstairs. Also on the ground floor is a kitchen/dining/living room that opens onto a terrace. The kitchen also gives access to a utility room, a shower room and a separate W.C.
The solid walnut staircase take you to the first floor. To your left is a large landing and the main bedroom. To the right there's a large roof-space.
The roof timbers are sound oak and covered with relatively modern machined concrete tiles that look traditional Romanesque from the outside.
Just beside the house is the original habitation that looks to me like it dates back over 200 years. It has been used as a barn, but as it still has the old fireplace and chimney, it lends itself to being a summer kitchen. Or it could be converted into a gite.
Across the entrance from the old house is a very large traditionally-built barn. The roof of this barn is in very good order and covers a very large space. If you don't need this as a barn I think it could be converted into a very nice home.
To the left and in front of the barn, is a relatively modern hangar. If you were buying the property for horses or other livestock, this could be quite a useful building as it is very large. Otherwise you could use the space for an indoor/outdoor swimming-pool.
Altogether the property sits on about 1 hectare (roughly 2.5 acres). The adjoining field of some 6,500 square metres (about 1.6 acres) is also for sale and open to negotiation.
There are no agency fees involved as the family have asked us to advertise the property on the website on their behalf. There is only space for 4 photos on this page, but we do have more we could email to you.
As this property is at the end of a country lane with only one other house nearby, I think it would be an ideal location for a small gite complex. This is a very popular area for summer visitors.
